Valentine’s Day is a time for telling someone you care about them. It is the time of year when people share cards and candy and decorate with hearts and ribbons. It is also a time of year that few associate with home decorating. Why not add some love to your home and add a few hearts and flowers?
Valentine’s day love can last for a couple weeks instead of just one day. Why not surprise that special person or persons in your life and decorate your home? Have a spare wreath? Why not add some pink or red hearts and some curly ribbon and hang it on your front door?
Honk’s One Dollar and JoAnn have some cute and inexpensive decorations that you can add to your theme. How about a vase with some red roses for a centerpiece on the table? Add a couple of the velvet covered heart picks and your heartfelt decorations will add to your romantic mood.
Don’t forget the candles! Choose some red candles and place them on a mirror for a special effect. Sierra’s in Pocatello carries a large selection of Yankee Candles. Candles can be an elegant way to add to your Valentine decorating. Candles can provide instant romance.
Consider using scent to add to the romantic feelings. This may sound strange but pumpkin and lavender scents have been shown to be most pleasurable to men.
One more area in your home to add some romance is the bathroom. Add some lacy or frilly finger tip towels and some pretty little heart-shaped soaps in a crystal dish. You will have an instantly pretty and romantic feeling.
I hope these home decorating ideas have inspired you to show you care this Valentine’s Day. Add some hearts and flowers to your home and you may just help those you love feel cared about and adored.
