Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg, Va., is delighted to join the celebration of Catholic Schools Week, a joint project between the National Catholic Education Association and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

This year's theme is “Catholic Schools - Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Holy Cross Regional Catholic School has proudly brought quality value-based education to central Virginia for 135 years.

A Catholic school education provides strong academics, character development, leadership and service. The close-knit community at Holy Cross is inclusive and diverse, welcoming all faiths and backgrounds.

Holy Cross, located at 2125 Langhorne Road, invites all prospective students and parents to attend Open Houses on Tuesday, January 28, at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Prospective PreK and kindergarten students and parents are invited to a special "K Day" event on Thursday, January 30 at 10 a.m.

Please call Director of Enrollment and Marketing Catherine Mosley at 434-847-5436 for reservations for any of these events.

Students, teachers and staff at Holy Cross will enjoy special activities each day to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

Daily activities include a Whole School Liturgy on Monday, Scholars Day on Tuesday, Teacher/Staff/Priest Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Prayer Partner Day on Thursday, and Green and White Day on Friday.

Holy Cross Regional Catholic School has passed the rigorous academic accreditation requirements of both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and School Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Holy Cross was founded in 1879 and serves the community as a quality college preparatory school for students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Holy Cross students live their faith through service to the community as they share the message of God's love. Small class sizes allow for individual attention and promote excellence in education.

100% of each year's graduating class is accepted into a college or university. Holy Cross offers advanced placement courses in History, Government, Math and English and dual enrollment opportunities.

In addition to a strong academic curriculum, Holy Cross offers band, chorus, theater, orchestra and competitive athletics to promote a well-rounded education.

If you would like to learn more about the value of a Catholic education for your child, please plan to attend one of the Open House events at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School this week.
