Holy Cross named Girls Team of Week by CT Sun

Holy Cross of Waterbury has been selected as the Connecticut Sun High School Girls’ Basketball Team of the Week, presented by Camaro Signsof Yantic, for the week of Jan. 1-7. The Crusaders, ranked fifth in the latest NewHaven Register Top 10 poll, improved to 9-0 last week with victories over Sacred Heart and Wilby.

This is the sixth season the ConnecticutSun has recognized a Team of the Week. Each winner will receive a commemorativeplaque and a congratulatory letter from Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault.

The Team of the Week is just one of several initiatives undertaken by the Connecticut Sun to highlight area high school girls’ basketball, including the CIAC Championship luncheon and the four state title games held at Mohegan Sun Arena.
