The TLC Cake Boss star arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child remains jailed tonight (Thursday) nine days after his arrest. Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro's brother-in-law Remigio "Remy" Gonzalaz is facing a list of charges including including sexual assault and child endangerment, the Associated Press reports. According to the arrest affidavit Gonzalez had sexual contact with a 14 year old in March 2010. The alleged victim's gender was not revealed and had reportedly only recently come forward. Gonzalez remains jailed on $300,000 bail.
Gonzalez, 32 works as a cake decorator at Carlo's Bake Shop in the Hoboken, New Jersey. The family-run shop is owned is by Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro and is the subject of the TLC reality show Cake Boss. Remy is the husband of Buddy's youngest sister Lisa and the father of baby Isabelle. Her birth was documented in a special Mother's Day episode of Cake Boss.
“We support Buddy and the Valastro family during this very difficult and challenging time," a rep for TLC said in a statement to Examiner.com. "The network respects the family’s wish for as much privacy as possible, and as this doesn't involve us, we will not be commenting any further."
The third season of Cake Boss premiered in May. The show airs Monday nights at 9pm on TLC.
