The Phoenix Comicon official Twitter feed made a huge announcement early Wednesday morning: Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar will be appearing at the convention in June.
West and Ward co-starred in the 1966 Batman television show as Batman and Robin respectively. Newmar joined them in the role of Catwoman, one of Batman's dangerous, feline adversaries. The show only ran for three seasons before being cancelled, but the sheer popularity of characters and the actors that performed the roles has longed outlived the original show run.
Adam West has been known more recently for his voice work, being featured in Family Guy as Mayor Adam West and the Fairly Oddparents as himself with an alter ego dubbed 'Catman.' Burt Ward has also made self-appearances in various shows such as Hollywood Treasure, Celebrity Ghost Stories, and Futurama. Julie Newmar similarly has worked on several documentaries in the past including an appearance in the Kickstarter-backed documentary Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age.
It is not yet known if the three will appear in a panel together or have separate programming. More details will hopefully be revealed on the Phoenix Comicon website. Phoenix Comicon will take place in downtown Phoenix on June 5-8.
