Holy-About Time...60's Batman TV Series Will Finally Be Offered on Blu-Ray & DVD

Grab hold of your tights, Batfans, because the moment we've all been waiting for is finally coming— That's right, the 1960's Batman TV series is coming to Blu-Ray and DVD, sometime this year, just in time for the Dark Knight's 75th Anniversary.

The show, which featured some of Hollywoods biggest stars of the day, lasted for only 3 seasons (from 1966 to 1968), but it lasted in syndication for over 40 years, building generations of loyal fans. A fourth season was planned, and the series was going to be picked up by another network, however the sets were destroyed and the new network decided that it would cost too much to rebuild all of the sets.

Despite the series short run, Batman himself has endured, turning 75 this year (He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May of 1939) and is still going strong.
