Recently a tema of researchers from the United States Holocaust Museum concluded that 40,0900 ghettos existed during Hitler's terrifying years of control from 1933-1945.
The total is far higher than any historians have estimated.
The sites are being published in a multivolume encyclopedia by the museum. The study proves that the Holocaust was far more extensive then ever thought before.
"We knew before how horrible life in the camps and ghetto's was, but the numbers are unbelievable." Said Harmut Berghoff the director of the German Historical Institute.
This work may also help Holocaust survivors int her suits against lost belongings during those years.
Sam Dubbin is a lawyer who represents Holocaust survivors and he has dealt with these issues many times. He stated: "How many claims have been rejected because the victims were in a camp that we didn't even know about?"
This unshakeable evidence can also be used to prove to wayard groups that deny the evidence of the Holocaust, that it was real.
