He has the face, the body and - on screen - the swagger of a mean, macho maestro. But when actor Vin Diesel faces Facebook, he's not afraid to show his holistic mind-body spirituality. In films such as "Riddick Trilogy (Pitch Black / The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury / The Chronicles of Riddick)" and "Fast & Furious 6," he's rough, tough and looks as if he could kill a kitten just by glaring at it. But then there's the Vin Diesel of Facebook fame.
He's posted "a Valentine’s Day video of him crooning Rihanna’s ballad “Stay” (sample lyric: “Funny you’re the broken one/ but I’m the only one who needed saving”) in a dark room with the music video projected on a wall. Not only does he attempt a few falsetto notes, he throws in some kissy sounds at the end," reports the New York Post. As a result, he is one of the most adored actors on Facebook.
And Vin Diesel recognizes it. “What Facebook didn’t realize is something very big was about to happen, and that was — for the first time in history [ . . . ] I started talking to people,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “In the realest ways.”
“When I started talking to the fans, I became the No. 1 page in the world. Over Coca-Cola, over huge companies. And it was only because I said: ‘Hi, guys, I love you.’ ”
Think that there's a sweet, spiritual softie posting for him? Wrong. Vin Diesel says it's all him with posts such as “Confidence . . . never deny yourself of it, for it costs you nothing and leads to great things . . . /smile.” Or “Being male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, but . . . being a Gentleman is a matter of choice.”
We can only quote the title of one of his movies: It's clear that he's "A Man Apart."
