According to a Jan. 18 ABC News report, Target will carry designer evening wear. The store announced that Kate Young, stylist to some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, will launch a collection with the store this spring.
“I’ve been working with Target for a number of years as a stylist, so having the chance to design my own collection with a brand I already know and love is like a dream come true,” said Young in a statement.
Young’s client roster includes Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams. ABC News reports that Young consults for designers Derek Lam and Jason Wu and was named the most powerful stylist in 2012 by the Hollywood Reporter.
“With this collection, I wanted to design standout pieces that allow women to experiment with fashion and create their own red carpet moments,” she said.
According to the Daily Mail, the Target line will focus on evening wear, and early sketches show flowing cream evening gowns and Peter Pan collar tea dresses.
In addition to evening wear, the line will also include apparel and fashion accessories. “This collection perfectly translates Kate’s edgy, yet sophisticated sense of style, allowing Target’s guests to create their own memorable fashion moments, all at affordable prices,” said Trish Adams, Target’s senior vice president of apparel and accessories, in a statement.
The budget collection will feature pieces all under $100. The items will be available in April at Target stores and Target.com.
