Hollywood Fringe 2013 to kick off with Town Hall Meeting and Benefit

The Hollywood Fringe Festival has announced that it will host a new event in 2013, the first annual Fringe Benefit. The affair will occur on February 2 beginning at 7 p.m. at the scene of last year's Fringe Central Station, 6314 Santa Monica Boulevard, and will serve as both a fundraiser and the registration kickoff for the 2013 festival. The event will feature live entertainment, a silent auction and a one-night revival of the Fringe bar. Tickets are $25 at the door or just $20 in advance (click on the "Fringe Benefit" link to purchase advance tickets. Attendees must be 18 or older.

The full lineup of entertainment for the Fringe Benefit will be announced at the festival's first Town Hall of the year, which will be held on January 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Theatre Asylum, located at 6320 Santa Monica Boulevard.

This informative session, focused on registration and participation in the 2013 festival, is the first of three town halls the organization will host for its participants. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP on the festival's website in order to secure a seat.

Registration for the Hollywood Fringe is open from February 1 through April 1. The Festival is open and non-curated, so any artistic group able to book a venue within the festival’s boundaries may register. Registration for the festival is a three-step process.

The first step is the creation of a project page (http://hollywoodfringe.org/add_project) on the festival’s site.

Step Two involves booking the project at a participating venue within the festival’s boundaries. Once the venue deal has been completed, groups can complete registration by paying the registration fee (Step Three). The first two steps can be started before registration officially opens on February 1. Read more about the registration process here.

The fourth annual Hollywood Fringe Festival will take place June 13-30, preceded by a week of previews taking place June 6-11. Last year the festival sold 25,000 tickets, returning the full proceeds of $200,000 to participating artists and venues.
