Have you ever wondered how some of Hollywood's most beautiful stars retain their youthful-looking glow and flawless skin? Check out some of the weird beauty secrets that Hollywood celebrities swear by!
Preparation H
We all know what Preparation H was created for, but did you ever think you could use it as an under-eye moisturizer? Sandra Bullock says "butt cream" (her words) makes the skin under her eyes "smooth as a baby's bottom," reduces fine lines around her eyes, plus reduces under-eye puffiness. If you'd like to try this weird beauty trick at home, squeeze a small amount onto your ring finger (enough to fit on the end of your finger) and then dab it under your eye starting at the outer corner and working your way inward.
Visine and Neosporin
Who knew that Visine not only rids your eyes of redness, but your pimples too! Cameron Diaz says whenever she gets a pimple, she nicks it with a tiny lancing tool, and then applies Neosporin and Visine to reduce redness and swelling. The Neosporin is understandable, as this is a healing ointment but the Visine is a neat trick that actually does take away a pimple's redness, making it less noticeable.
Grapeseed Oil
Do you have sensitive skin that seems to have allergic reactions to face creams and lotions? Then you are no different from actress Emma Stone who says she's "allergic to everything." Instead of using store bought lotions to nourish her skin, she applies all-natural grapeseed oil to her face as her moisturizer. It can be used throughout the day, as needed to hydrate the skin.
Olive and Macadamia Oils
Many types of natural oils are good for the skin, and Cate Blanchett uses two kinds specifically to keep her complexion so clear and vibrant. Blanchett makes a homemade skin scrub out of olive and macadamia oils, plus grapefruit juice and sea salt. She says that by using this in a warm to hot shower, it really makes her skin feel clean.
Ice Water Facials
What better way to make all of the blood flow to the outer layer of your skin than by submerging it in icy water. Crazy as it sounds, two actresses, Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller, swear by this treatment, as it gives their skin an unparalleled rosy glow no other product or treatment can provide.
Leech Therapy
Did you know that leeches have been used for centuries as a method of detoxification and beautification? Leeches carry a detoxifying enzyme that is released into the bloodstream as they bite into your skin. Leeches have been used to remove bruising, dark, under-eye circles and now they're a regular part of Demi Moore's beautification ritual to detoxify her body.
Juice Cleansing
While this isn't that weird of a beauty treatment to some, for others they can't imagine ingesting nothing but juice for a period of three days. Salma Hayek believes that this is one of the best methods of detoxifying the body and has incorporated juice cleanses into her lifestyle for more than 15 years. After she finishes the third day, she states that her "skin is glowing."
Bird Poop Facial
This one is mind boggling because bird poop has to be one of the grossest things you could ever think of putting on your skin. A bird's poop is a combination of pee and poop and contains acidic ingredients. But, this is why it is one of the latest Hollywood crazes and utilized by both David and Victoria Beckham on a regular basis. High-end spas are providing the bird poop facial at hundreds of dollars a treatment. A combination of rice bran, water and Nightingale excrement are made into a mask-like substance and applied to the face and neck area, leaving the skin smoother and shinier.
Earthworm Poop Wrinkle Cream
Here's another oddball treatment that was once featured on "The Doctors" TV show. Who knew earthworms even pooped? Well, apparently, they do and earthworm excrement is used in a wrinkle cream and said to reduce and reverse the signs of aging, wrinkles and fine lines, and help those suffering from skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Synthetic Snake Venom
This treatment makes sense and would be something similar to Botox, except you don't have to inject it into the skin. Celebrities like Debra Messing, Gwyneth Paltrow and Katie Holmes have tried and liked this snake venom product called Syn-ake. It is applied topically, is said to smooth wrinkles and fine lines in the face, and also relaxes the facial muscles.
