Southern California Fans Celebrate The Beatles 50th Anniversary

In support of the "Beatles NYC 50" celebration to mark the historic 50th anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, fans gathered outside the landmark Capitol Records building in Hollywood California in what was billed as "The Beatles Hollywood 50th" event. Coordinated by Jerry Rubin in cooperation with Capitol Records and co-hosted by "Breakfast With The Beatles" own Chris Carter a crowd estimated at 400 to 500 celebratory Beatles fans clapped and cheered as Jerry Rubin introduced the honorary host of the event...Ed Sullivan himself played by actor Michael Sherman. Mr Sullivan joked and teased with the crowd as he introduced a group of talented musicians lead by the events special guest Mr. Tim Piper who performed his new single "The Shot Heard Round The World".

A string of other performers that day included operatic soprano Shayne Dalva who sang "Yesterday", Beatles tribute band Ye Olde Beetles, Pakistan rocker brothers Tee-M, singer songwriter Jason Berk and Beatles fan Jason T. Adams.

The day began with a star polishing by the official walk of fame star polisher Dennis Garling. All four of the Beatles Walk of Fame stars are located directly in front of Capitol Records. Radio host Chris Carter arrived to share some thoughts with the crowd about the lasting impression the Beatles will have on our music and popular culture then surprised the crowd by passing out free admission tickets to the Ringo Starr exhibit at the Grammy Museum located in downtown L.A.. But Chris wasn't finished just yet. As the official cake cutter of these ceremonies, Chris sliced into the beautiful anniversary cake graciously donated to the event by Capitol Records and with the help of those around him... handed out slices to the crowd.

As the writer of this article I should say that I did help to spread the word on this event through social media and so it is only fitting that I take this time to tell you readers about the next Beatles event taking place on February 25th at 6:00pm. A celebration of the birthday date of George Harrison. That event invite can be found here:
