The film, which was officially released last year, extended its run with a packed theater of filmgoers who were unfamiliar with the project and watched with fresh and sometimes teary eyes. Winnie Mandela, stars Academy Award® winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) and Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow) and followed Winnie from a young girl, to a grown woman fighting apartheid in South Africa, while finding love.
After the film the audience had a chance for a brief Q&A, which only left the crowd wanting to know more, "What did Winnie think?" "Did Nelson Mandela see it?" Overall, the attendees were glad with Jennifer's depiction of the strong, stoic Winnie, even though she had demons to overcome.
