Holly Madison plans to eat her placenta after giving birth in March

Holly Madison plans to eat her placenta after giving birth to her baby in March, Too Fab reports Feb. 28.

Madison wrote in her daily blog Wednesday that she plans on joining the trend moms have participated in by transforming their placenta into pills. "Mad Men" actress, January Jones, did the same thing after giving birth to her son, Xandier, in 2011.

"This might sound gross, but I'm totally planning on having my placenta turned into pills I can take after giving birth," Madison wrote. "I heard it helps women recover faster and I want to recover as fast as I can!"

When Jones had her placenta turned into pills, she told Britain's Glamour magazine at the time that she learned it helped new moms battle depression and fatigue. She never had depression, but wanted to take the placenta pills as a safeguard for health and maximum recovery.

Holly Madison's due date is March 5.
