Holly Madison is off to a rocky start for the New Year. Just days after her ex, Hugh Hefner, gets engaged, Holly was ordered to lose weight for her Vegas dance show.
"I always thought I looked fine. It was a shock to me when they told me to lose weight," Madison tells Radar Jan. 11, 2011.
Holly, who stars in the Las Vegas striptease revue Peepshow, says she was shocked when producers recently called and asked her to some of the weight she has gained during the past few months.
'I'M NOT FAT!'
While Madison, 32, is curvier and rounder than she was last year, she still pulls off the sexy outfits required for Peepshow.
"I don't think I need to lose weight!" Holly says. "I market myself as a sex symbol, I don't market myself as a fitness model or a professional dancer, so I feel like the way I look is fine."
Still, Madison, who hates working out and keeps thin by restricting her caloric intake, is making an effort to slim down.
"I changed my eating habits to really healthy, and I've lost a few pounds," she says. "I'm still getting there and deciding if I even want to lose weight."
Vegas showgirls usually have height and weight requirements. Most are tall and thin and are required to not gain weight in order to fit into their body-hugging costumes, which are often nothing more than headpieces, leotards and heels.
'I OWE EVERYTHING TO PLASTIC SURGERY'
Madison, who has admitted getting a nose job and breast implants, dated Hugh Hefner, 84, from 2001 to 2008.
While she once vowed to marry and have children with Hef before she turned 30, Holly admits that being one of Hef's harem at the Playboy Mansion made her extremely insecure.
"Living with Hef brought down my self-esteem a lot. I was comparing myself to the other girls. You have to look a certain way at the mansion.
Plastic surgery made it easier for me to get things I wanted in my career. Without it, I wouldn't be where I am today. It made me more confident. And a lot of doors open when you look a certain way."
Holly split from Hef after he refused to marry her. He has since since proposed to his latest girlfriend, Crystal Harris, 24.
Since leaving the Playboy Mansion in 2009, Holly has dated illusionist Cris Angel and Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden. She's now reportedly dating All Time Low guitarist Jack Barakat.

why does this article and Holly both say she's 32, when her bio on Peepshow and her own website say she was born Dec. 23, 1979???? this would put her at 31, not 32... are people so stupid they cannot count or even determine what year it is?
