Holley Maher is a singer and songwriter who paints, writes and illustrates story books, and collects various instruments. She also runs a graphic design company, and likes to take classes at the Nashville Ballet just for fun. She says, of her multiple artistic outlets, "I feel like it's important to keep myself fresh.”
For her latest EP, Euphorics, she kept things fresh by working with new collaborators. This is Maher’s third EP. Previously, her music has been described as “beautifully textured vocal harmonies and sweeping melodies.” On her latest, which was released in the early summer, she enlisted help from producer Chris Grainger (Kopecky Family Band, The Cold Stares) and fellow musician Kyle Andrews. The result has some of the whimsy of Maher’s earlier work, but with more of a dance backbeat underneath it. The five-song set also features a duet with Jonathan Lister.
Catch Holley Maher this weekend at Musicians Corner, along with Griffin House, The Fairfield Four, and more.
