Do not let the name fool you; Auggie's Doggies does not just cater to dogs. The store carries an impressive selection of canned and raw foods for cats. Brands include Weruva, Tiki Cat, Raw Health, Instinct, OC Raw, ZiwiPeak and more. According to Audree Berg, president of Auggie's Doggies, nearly 40% of the food sold is for cats.
Berg, along with her husband Gary, opened Auggie's Doggies in January 2011. From day one their focus has been on encouraging customers to take a holistic approach to caring for their pets. The result has been a loyal, educated customer base that continues to grow.
"Our customers are label readers, so they care about the quality of ingredients, where the food is processed, additives, etcetera," shared Berg.
For customers wishing to change their cat to a raw diet, Auggie's Doggies carries samples from a variety of manufacturers. Berg encourages customers to try a sample before buying a large amount because as most cat guardians know, some cats don’t take well to change.
In addition to food, the store carries supplements ranging from homeopathic to herbal to vitamins, minerals and omega 3 oils. They also feature toys like Da Bird as well as all natural brands of kitty litter.
