It’s that time of year again for holiday giving. With all its cultural diversity, fashion, celebrities, arts, and randomness, there is probably no place more diverse than to do holiday shopping in New York City. Here are some favorites to check out if traveling during the Christmas season or even keep the selections in mind if souvenirs for others are required on the next trip to New York City.
Know any sports fanatics? How about die hard Yankees fans? Check out the Yankees Clubhouse. With several locations in New York City, one will surely be able to find just the right jersey or other Yankees memorabilia. There is even one right outside Yankees Stadium in the Bronx, so get a picture of the famous stadium while there.
Game of Thrones fans do not have to wait for season four or the Game of Thrones video game. They can get their fix by receiving Game of Thrones items at the HBO Store in New York City. They have anything related to the tv show from bookends, figurines, and even the new book "Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister", which consists of quotes by the character himself.
For more variety in one spot, check out some of the flea markets or holiday markets. Winter Village in Bryant Park has a wide selection of jewelry, clothing (for people and pets!), and Christmas items. Forget the cliche "I love New York" t-shirts and coffee mugs. With the many department stores, there is so much opportunity for shopping and looking. Macy's on 34th Street has its annual holiday window display. The store itself is huge, and it will be easy for even the most accurate GPS systems to get lost, so take all the time needed to explore.
The opportunities to shop in New York City are of course endless. Check out this Pinterest board that is dedicated to souvenirs from New York for more ideas. While some are cliche, like the "I love NY" t-shirt, some are neat, such as the New York City Lego set.
The bottom line is that New York City will not disappoint. Even the hardest person to shop for will be happy with something in this city!
