It is the season to be jolly! As I walk around to get a feel of the holiday spirit, I also feel a sense of anxiety amongst the people as they hustle and bustle in search for the perfect gifts, holiday decorations and to catch the best sales. So now that we are days away from the New Year, I would like to share some advice that I have collected (and will hopefully make good use of it!) in order to renew a sense of priority, self peace. We cannot be of any use to others, if we see ourselves as out of our element.
So here are a few tips to follow:
Few minutes of solitude: Start the day in a meditation to bring your mind and body in sync. Take deep breathes and focus on clarity of your mind
Breakfast: We are always in a rush and grab for the closest cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich. I set up a 'to go' mug with a green tea bag in the evening so that way I can just add some hot water in the morning. Add a whole grain muffin and a boiled egg for an energetic start to your day.
Exercise: Personally I find it hard to find a whole hour within my day to dedicate to working out so I have started with 15 minutes of exercise in the morning to jump start my body and another 30-45 minutes sometime within the day whether it is walking, taking a quick jog or taking part in a dance class.
Priority: Feel a sense of accomplishment by setting a small goal for the day of something to look forward to. I have bags of items that I just thrown in the garage the past few weeks and I just go through a bag every so often that I can actually see less clutter in that garage. I have also sent a nice note to someone I have been meaning to call and other little things that I just cannot do all at once.
Drive to the same destination in a different way: For so long I have just gone through rushing through my daily routine, that I actually do not even enjoy it. Rushing through the day is something that I want to change. So I plan to make changes to the routine themselves so it is more to my liking. I am going to take different driving routes, shop in different places and diversify my life one change at a time.
Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season blessed with prosperity, happiness, peace and serenity for the New Year!
