It is officially December! The month of chaos, bargain hunting, multiple shopping trips, but also a time when wonderful memories are shared and made with family and friends. It is stressful enough trying to figure out what to buy for whom, what to cook, when to start cooking, all the planning that goes long with everything and of course, if you have a job, you have to worry about that as well. With all of this on your mind it is hard not to go crazy and you definitely do not want to be wasting time trying to figure out what to wear to the numerous occasions that you have to (or should) make an appearance at. Here is a little collection of inspiration for the various events that may come up in your already busy and packed schedule.
- The Office Party; The infamous office party...filled with memories that you will cherish, when the quiet person in the office becomes the loudest and you learn way too much about your boss. The perfect outfit for this would be one that you may easily transition from day to night...especially if you will all be going out after work hours. The best solution would be to opt for a pair of holiday colored trousers, such as mulberry or wine shades, pair them with a peplum top. During work hours you may throw a blazer on over it and a pair of nice flats...then, once it is time to go out, take the blazer off and throw on a statement necklace and switch out your flats for a pair of killer heels. You may also touch up your make-up to make it a bit more dark and mysterious. Burgundy Pants.
- Date Night; When going on a date it is important to show off your sense of style, but not make it over-bearing. The whole purpose is for the lucky suitor to see you...and pay attention to you rather than be distracted by your outrageous outfit or accessories. The perfect way to keep it classy, but simple is to go for the classic Little Black Dress. Of course, there are so many styles to choose from now that you can find the one that compliments your personality the best. Pair this with a pair of strappy black heels, a few delicate bracelets or necklace and a clutch to hold only your most important belongings. Forever 21 Black Dress.
- Girl's Night Out; When heading out with your girlfriends, of course you want to have fun and go all out...so do the same with your outfit. Go for a dress that has some sort of pattern or glitz to it...like gold toned. Then pair it with some fun colored heels or booties and fun accessories. I went back to the wine/burgundy color because I think that it is perfect for colder weather...and a leopard print clutch just to add some sexiness to the outfit. Forever 21 Sequin Dress.
- Family Time; After days filled with shopping, seeing friends, decorating the house and wrapping presents...it is reward to be able to head home and relax with your family over long talks and cups of hot cocoa. This is the time to embrace being comfortable. Ditch the heels and the sparkly dresses and jewelry and allow yourself to just "let it loose". Take a pair of comfortable, loose fitting trousers, pair it with a plain white t-shirt and the biggest comfiest sweater you can find...even if you have to borrow it from your significant other. Add on a pair of comfy boots, a floral print scarf, a cross-body bag and you are ready for the day! Target Floral Scarf.
Hope these ideas and suggestion are useful! And remember to have fun and not let stress get the best of you!
