Holiday lunch idea: Pizza Bread

Holiday lunches can be stressful!  Between opening gifts and excited family members, the atmosphere can be a little overwhelming.  This lunch idea will give you what you need to keep everyone calm, full and happy with minimal effort, allowing you to finalize those final dinner plans for the big meal.  Plus, it's a great year-round meal that the kids will love to eat and love to help put together.  Make good use of any leftovers when you put together this recipe and you'll end up with a delicious combination your family will certainly love.

Pizza Bread

1 loaf French bread, split lengthwise

pepperoni, sausage or any other meat you would like to add to the top

Spaghetti sauce (about 1/2 cup or more to taste)

Cheese

Spinach, Bell Pepper, Onions, Olives or any other toppings you would like to add

Spread about 1/4 cup on each side of the bread, making sure not to use too much.  Too much sauce will leave you with soggy bread.  Next add your meat on top of that, then the cheese.  Finish with your vegetable toppings and bake at 350 degrees until the cheese is melted and the bread lightly browned.

Enjoy!

Mike oregano is a great addition! Basil or pizza seasoning also work well here.
