Holiday Hot Nuts (Photos)

One thing will be a sure party pleaser for the holidays are Marty’s Nuts. Once tasted, your guests will pass by the potato chips, Trix mix, and Pillsbury puffs to request more of Marty’s Nuts.

Why are Marty’s Nuts a sure thing? The proof is in the recipe below:

Nuts, (any combination of your favorites; pecans, almonds, walnuts).

Mix together one cup of each.

Add, a stick of butter, a cup of brown sugar or you may reduce the amount of sugar and add chopped dates. Depending on your tolerance, if ½-teaspoon Cayenne pepper is not enough, add more. As soon as they exit the oven, salt to your taste. Yum, yum.

Let’s get started. Heat that oven honey to 350 degrees, while you line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.

In a large saucepan, melt butter and sugar together then add the cayenne pepper. Mix your nuts in and toss, toss to Micheal Buble’s Christmas music.

It is time for the cookie sheet.

Spread the mixture on the cookie sheet and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. The aroma will send the neighbors knocking.

Patience, let the nuts cool down a bit before indulging.

You may also roast your nuts first if you prefer, then add them to your butter, brown sugar or dates, mixture. Place them back on the cookie sheet and bake ten minutes.

Either way, it will be a touchdown for your husband’s football buddies, and a slam dunk for the Kobe Bryant in your household. During the girls’ movie night, their fingers will never leave the bowl.

Happy Holidays!
