With Christmas only a few short days away, and winter definitely upon as (as the snowflakes swirl down), it is time for that last-minute shopping blitz. If you're still looking for just the right thing, then you've come to the right place, as Minneapolis Men's Style highlights the best things to keep a guy happy and warm this holiday season.
Last time we looked at some of the cool gadgets available this holiday season, but now we turn our sights on something a bit more wearable: the warm gear that makes winter fun! What's on our list this year?
1. A great wool scarf
Just an hour south of Minneapolis, a small town on the Cannon River is home to one of the premier woolen mills in the area. For nearly a century and a half, Faribault Woolen Mills has been producing top-notch woolen goods. Wrap up one of their scarves (starting at $50) for under the Christmas tree, and now that you'll be giving a gift that will last for years to come. Order online directly through the Mill, or visit Ampersand (located in the Galleria) for a Twin Cities-local buying option.
2. Gloves, for all of the winter sports
Got an ice fisherman to shop for? Or, even just a dude that loves to be outside no matter what the temperature? Then, the right pair of gloves can make all the difference between having an awesome day outdoors, and coming in after two hours to avoid the frostbite. Clam Corp has long been a leader in ice fishing gear, and we love their Ultra Gloves ($54). Windproof, waterproof, and yet, still breathable, these gloves will keep him toasty while still allowing for mobility and comfort. Find Clam Corp's Ice Armour gear online, or at your local Dick's, Sheel's, or Mill's Fleet Farm.
3. A casual-dressy wool sweater
If you're anything like this girl, you're constantly being asked to approve the outfit being worn to a family get-together or other social event. Take the guessing out with a nice wool sweater than can be dressed down with jeans, or dressed up with slacks and a button-down. We've written on this topic before, but its advice worth repeating, as a great sweater is a versatile addition to any closet. Options abound, but we've long been fans on the merino wool sweater that Express puts out in a variety of colors every year. At $70, it's a great value for a classic style, and easy to find the right color for your wardrobe.
