Holding each other accountable.

Who do we put in charge to set the examples the rest of us would like to follow within our communities? Police and Sheriffs Departments as well as the Mayor and all City and County heads of office, that is who. When we see them doing their job it makes us all feel good to know we have elected people who take pride in first of all doing their job and doing it well, it gives us the incentive to want to do the same and do what we can for others in our communities promoting law abiding citizens and working together to keep our towns clean and running smoothly. Well that would be a perfect world now would it not? and to many times that is not the case. Instead we elect many into office taking their word that they will do the right thing and to often once they are in that office, they do just the opposite. They abuse their authority and promote laziness and greed. In the case of many Animal Control Departments it is even worse because we are talking about lazy uncaring individuals who are there we would like to believe to help save lives, promote that belief within our cities and towns and help educate others into the proper care of animals so that they are not wandering the streets, dying in those streets and not over populating. How sad that this is so often not the case, within these departments they are quick to kill and could care less about saving the lives of these innocent animals. How hard do they try to save each and everyone of the animals that come to them? not very hard as the kill statistics prove that all to loud and clear. So many might ask what can we do? how do we stop this type of killing in high numbers? well if we put them in office we can surely take them out, we can let them know we are watching and their behavior is totally unacceptable, we can complain to their supervisors and keep climbing the ladder all the way to the top if we have to so that they are always aware we are not going to stop watching or complaining until the job we expect them to do well done is just that. Why do so many of us choose to live in ignorance as to what goes on around us? does that help stop the killing of innocent lives? does it help you sleep easier at night? it is our job as people living in this world together to adhere to a higher standard of living in regards to morals and values teaching others as often as we can and showing by example as often as we can that we not only expect it from each other but practice what we preach. If those we put into any office abuse their position and are not doing their jobs continue to get away with it we are saying loud and clear that it is okay to not do their jobs and for the next coming into that position to follow suit, if it takes calling daily and writing letters to any and all we can find email addresses to than what stops us from doing so? are we so caught up in our own lives that we cannot take the seconds or minutes to care for the lives of other living creatures? they need our help, 24 hrs a day 365 days a week, think for one second how bad it is now even with so many of us fighting and that for one second we all drop the ball how much more worse it could get, as if it is not bad enough now. I ask you all where you live in a big or small town, find out who is in charge of those taking care of our beloved homeless animals, those who we want in charge and those we want out of charge, who can we call and write not only to support those doing their jobs but to demand those that are not, start or get out. We all have a voice and the obligation to stand up for those in need our hearts should call us to do just that. We have given up on humanity and let those around us do the same by allowing to much trash into our lives at every turn. It is about paying it forward and not asking for anything in return just the simple pleasure of knowing that this day you did the best you could not only for yourselves and your family but hopefully maybe for one other living creature whose voices go unheard. Voices that to many ignore, abuse, torture, rape, mame, eat, skin alive, use for fur, hit and leave to die in the streets, go hungry, without shelter or water or shade or warmth, the smallest deed of kindness can go a long way in the life of any and all animals in need. We have to demand from each other what we demand from ourselves, reset our level of tolerance and take back humanity before it to is completely extinct.
