On Monday, May 10th, Malibu House of Hope will host their 1st Annual Hold 'Em for the Homeless Celebrity Poker Tournament at Hollywood hot-spot Avalon. 100% of the proceeds raised will benefit Malibu House of Hope's programming. Malibu House of Hope, is an amazing non-profit that provides housing, food, social work, schooling and job training for homeless children and young adults and really helps to transform their lives giving them the second chance they deserve. MHOH will be doing incredibly transformative work with homeless children in our community who are all too often overlooked. The National Coalition for the Homeless reports that there are 1.35 million children who are homeless on any given night in this country, with a majority of whom are runaways due to fleeing an extremely abusive home environment. The mission of MHOH is to make sure that no child is left outside.
The star-studded event, presented by The Bicycle Casino, will be held at the legendary Avalon ballroom, located at 1735 N. Vine Street in Hollywood from 7pm - 11pm on Monday, May 10th, 2010. Guests will enjoy cocktails, gourmet cuisine and delicious desserts. Tournament players will have the chance to win fabulous prizes. Commerce Casino is proud to support Malibu House of Hope at the 1st Annual Hold 'Em for the Homeless Celebrity Poker Tournament by donating the Grand Prize at the event on May 10th. The winner of the Hold 'Em for the Homeless Celebrity Poker Tournament will receive a seat in the televised and star-studded 2011 World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational valued at $25,000 which will take place at the world's largest poker casino, Commerce Casino.
There will also be Vegas style games like Blackjack & Roulette in addition to a Jewelry Bar hosted by Judith Ripka and a Zino Platinum Cigar Lounge. The media partner for the event is Reality Cares.
