During my stay in Vegas, I was invited by Melissa Camarena, Public Relations Coordinator with VIRGEN INC. to join them; as they kicked off the 10th annual Oktoberfest at Hofbäuhaus Las Vegas! Saturday, September 14th 2013.
Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas’ annual Oktoberfest celebration is a reproduction of the original in Munich, Germany. The original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany will be September 21st - October 6th, 2013. The Oktoberfest in München, Germany is the world's biggest beer fest. With it's rides, tents and great atmosphere it makes for a great trip to Munich and enjoying the Bavarian Lifestyle of traditional music, dirndl and lederhosen clothing and beer along with chicken and other delicious bavarian food.
On Saturday, September 14th at 7 p.m., the 10th Annual Oktoberfest kicked off with a surprise celebrity keg tapper. (Siegfried & Roy have kicked it off for the past nine years). For the six weeks following, Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas will host nights of endless German fun in its traditional Bavarian restaurant.
Every Friday and Saturday, a different Vegas celebrity will untap the newest Oktoberfest keg. Previous keg tappers include Holly Madison, Dana White, Chippendales, Carrot Top, Frank Mir, Coco and Ice-T, and the cast of Pawn Stars among others.
I couldn't think of anywhere better to be, where intensity was still off the scale; in the city as everyone geared up to watch the Maywether vs Canelo fight. This was truly a high energy, passionate about culture experience. Some came dressed to the theme, paying homage to the tradition as well as practicing the long running "paddle spankin' " Something fun and painful to watch at the same time. This was a cultural experience that was totally worth attending. The spirit of their enthusiasm was contagious! The food was simply to die for! The beer was a plus!
It was a pleasure to dine with and celebrate this momentous occasion with the staff at Virgen Inc.: VIRGEN's owner, Merrell Virgen, Michelle Howell, Deral Takushi, Dan Leszczynski, Melissa Cameron and Alex Gilbert.
