It was announced throughout the recent months and weeks that HOF brought Pro MMA to Jacksonville and is presenting the main event, “A New Dawn”. Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest growing sport throughout the world and has gained a lot of recognition. One of the fights fans can expect at the main event is Ken Deuce Garner VS Kovacs.
Where are you originally from? I was born in Stuart, Florida.
What is your background in Martial Arts? It's actually wrestling, high school and Gloucester County College in New Jersey.
Have you ever competed in any other combat sports such as wresting or boxing? Yes, I have. Only wrestling
What type of training have you been doing lately for your workouts and how are you getting prepared for fight night? I am working on strength and conditioning, striking, Jiu Jitsu, wrestling and Muay Thai training.
Fight night is less than a month away. How do you feel about that? Are you excited, confident, nervous? I am very confident and excited that I get to fight in the USA. I haven't fought in the USA in two years and I am coming back from fighting in Russia.
What goes on behind the scenes? Are the guys’ friends or competition? I am a professional. This is competition. I have no anger towards my opponent.
The fights are dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the HEAL Foundation for Autism. The MMA fighters will weigh in at Latitude 360 on Sept 5th. Fans can expect to see ring girls “Fame Girls by Manikin” at promotional events prior to fight night and, of course, at the main event.
