Join farmers and friends at Full Belly Farm for their Oct 5 & 6, 2013 Hoes Down Farm Festival. Each year, organic farmers, homesteaders, and regular folks who enjoy good healthy food and good healthy fun gather at the farm to share the fall harvest.
The Hoes Down Harvest Festival is dedicated to honoring and promoting the knowledge of agricultural arts and sustainable rural living through inspiration and education. Our goals extend beyond the weekend of fun and education. The Hoes Down generates valuable resources for local and statewide organizations working on projects which benefit sustainable agriculture and rural communities.
The main festivities occur on Saturday with a day of live music, wine tasting, and activities for kids of all ages. Agricultural workshops will cover a wide range of re-skilling topics: organic fruit trees, grass fed beef, cow milking, herbs and flowers, pest control, sheep shearing, small farm equipment, and more.
Fill your belly all day with fresh organic meals and treats. Indulge in fresh seasonal produce at an all-day farmers' market. Get an early start on holiday shopping with the bounty of crafts and gifts.
Camping is available for visitors staying over Saturday night.
Sunday is day for educational seminars. Learn about backyard bee keeping, pasture raised poultry, small scale dairy farming, and suburban homesteading. Join a tour of Full Belly Farm or hop on a bike for a tour of other local farms. Kids can “get their hands dirty” at the Full Belly Kids Camp.
