The Houlton Shiretowners girls basketball team defeated the Hodgdon Hawks behind a 20 point effort from Katie Condon just five days ago.
The two teams will meet again this evening at Houlton high school. The game can be seen live on whoufm.com
Hodgdon is currently 11-3 and third in the MPA class D standings. Houlton is 9-4 and fourth in the class C standings.
The Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) Pirates will travel to Corinth for a girls basketball game against the Red Devils from Central.
The contest between the Pirates and Red Devils will go a long ways in determining the tournament fate for both teams.
The Pirates are 9-5 and currently tied with Sumner for eighth place in the MPA class C standings. Getting that eighth position means getting a home preliminary game.
The top 11 teams will qualify for the class C tournament.
Central (5-8) currently sits 12th in the standings.
The defending state champions have plenty of opportunity to reach the tournament. The Red Devils have five games remaining including three (PCHS, Penquis and Sumner) against teams that are currently ahead of them in the standings.
Calais will look to improve their record to 14-0 when they host 10-2 Machias.
The Washburn girls will try and stay undefeated as they travel to 12-2 Southern Aroostook.
