Hodgdon and Schenck advance in class D girls tourney

Bangor, ME- Mariah Wiley scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half to lead the Hodgdon Hawks girls basketball team to a 53-41 victory over Van Buren Saturday evening at the Bangor Auditorium.

Parise Rossignol scored 30 points to lead the Crusaders.

The Hawks will face Schenck in a semifinal game Thursday at 2 p.m.

Kristin Thompson scored 24 points to lead the Wolverines to a 53-31 victory over Jonesport-Beals in the final game of the day at the Auditorium.

The class D quarterfinals will continue Monday.

The boys will get the day started when Central Aroostook takes on Katahdin. The Bangor Christian boys will face Washburn (17-1) at 11:05 a.m.

The 10th seeded Machias Bulldogs girls basketball team will take on Fort Fairfield at 2 p.m.

Limestone will face the top seeded Washburn Beavers girls basketball team at 3:35.

Deer Isle-Stonington and Hodgdon boys will get the evening session started at 7 p.m. Easton will take on top seed Jonesport-Beals at 8:35 p.m.
