Hockey Night!

Hockey is back and that is big in my house! I have a lot of guys that come over at least once a week to watch a game. They get hungry while watching the game and look at me to fix that problem. So some great party food ideas that are cheap, tasty, and super easy to make are:

Meatballs in sauce kept in a slow cooker to keep warm. If you have no time to make fresh meatballs that is ok. There are premade options that are great, I like to get the turkeys options to make it a bit healthier, and I personally enjoy them better than beef.

Dips and chips-Like 7 layer dip is a nice hearty dip the the guys love to dig into. Start by layering re-fried beans in a deep dish for a solid base and then pick your favorite layers and start going to town. I like beans then guacamole, then sour cream that has taco seasoning mixed into it. Then I topped my dip off with cheese, diced tomatoes, olives and jalapenos for a kick.

Bratwursts with pepper and onions another great dish. I like to get both hot and mild brats so it is a nice mix of flavors. Start by searing the meat off and then putting it to the side, then sauté the onions and peppers till soft and add the meat back after slicing. You can add some marinara sauce and cook ‘til the meat is cooked though. You can serve as-is or on buns.

By asking others to bring sweets you’ll have a nice well rounded hockey night! Enjoy!

Sorry about the lack of picture, I will be getting better at taking them before all of it gets devoured!
