Hobart & William Smith sailing team coming to Corpus Christi Yacht Club

The coed sailing team from Hobart and William Smith Colleges is coming to Corpus Christi Yacht Club.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges, a competitive independent liberal arts college located on the Finger Lakes in New York is known for their outstanding Sailing Team. Their sailing coach, Scott Iklé has been at the helm of the Hobart and William Smith sailing program since 1993. Since that time Hobart and William Smith Colleges have earned berths in 33 ICSA North American Championship events, including 15 top five finishes.

This year is no exception; both the coed and women’s team will compete in the 2012 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships as well as the ICSA Team Race National Championship, which will be hosted by the University of Texas Sailing Team and Austin Yacht Club. This is a ten-day event from May 29th to June 8th, including women, team racing, and coed events. The event will take place at the Austin Yacht Club on Lake Travis, about 30 minutes west of Austin, TX.

The coed team with Assistant Coach, Dan Thompson, will practice at Corpus Christi Yacht Club before their event. Corpus Christi Yacht Club will host a meet and greet on Wednesday, May 30th at 8:00 p.m. and you will have a chance to meet these athletes as well as learn more about college sailing.
