As summer turns to fall, the HOA industry has started to once again prepare for the next round of awards presentations. As with most industries, homeowner's associations have annual gatherings to celebrate the best of what association life has to offer, and to allow HOA professionals, board members, and vendors a chance to interact.
One of the largest of these gatherings is the Florida Communities of Excellence Awards Conference and Gala. The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards is the first and only comprehensive, independent recognition program for the tens of thousands of community associations throughout Florida. The event will be held in Orlando at the Rosen Plaza Hotel on May 2, 2014.
Applications for the awards are now being accepted.
- There is no fee to enter, and you may enter in as many categories as you wish.
- Entry is all online, and the deadline is January 31, 2014.
- There is no fee for the conference and gala for active community association managers, board members, and residents.
Another major awards presentation is the FLCAJ Reader's Choice Awards. This event, which is new for 2014, is gathering momentum, and currently has more than 800 votes cast for the service providers that are nominated.
There are three levels of achievement in the awards: diamond, platinum, and gold. Since the levels of achievement are directly related to the number of votes cast for each service provider, every vote helps move the nominees higher.
Nominations and category additions can be made online up to November 15, 2013. The voting period will end December 1, 2013. The winners will be announced at The FLCAJ-FCAP Statewide Conference & Expo on January 8, 2014.
