The passing of Elizabeth on December 3 left an opening at Caring for Creatures, the sanctuary Elizabeth would have gone to if she had lived. Darlington County Humane Society announced today that sweet Liza will be taking her place.
Liza was rescued from a horrific hoarding situation this past February. While some cat hoarding rescues never recover enough to fit in and adjust to a normal life, Liza was a borderline case. She received lots of love from shelter staff, but unfortunately Liza was never chosen for adoption while at the Darlington shelter.
The staff at Darlington County Humane Society will miss Liza, but they realize Caring for Creatures will provide for her in a loving atmosphere until a forever home can be found. The goal of the Palmyra, Virginia based sanctuary is to find a permanent home for each cat or dog in their care. Their website states
"Caring for Creatures' goal is to place as many of our animals as possible into loving and responsible homes. Our adoption process is thorough and we make every effort possible to correctly match animal and human."
Liza should arrive at Caring for Creatures within the next several hours. An update article and a photo of her will be written once she gets settled in at the sanctuary.
Caring for Creatures is a 501c3 organization that operates solely on donations. They also have a number of fundraisers you can check out on their Facebook page.
Enjoy life with the caring people who are anxious to help you with the next step of your journey to find a perfect family. Liza, you truly deserve being spoiled until a loving forever home can be found.
