Ho'oponopono: The most powerful, simple way to forgive, let go, and move forward

What better way to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his Dream today than practicing Ho'oponopono!??

Over the last year or so I have learned a great deal about Ho'oponopono, the Hawaiian system of "Letting Go" and forgiving those around us who are challenging, and also taking responsibility for everything and everyone who comes into our lives. This system was developed by the Polynesian cultures and was known to have been practiced in Ancient Hawaii. It is defined in the Hawaiian dictionary as "mental cleansing: family conferences in which relationships were set right through prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, and mutual restitution and forgiveness."

"Aunty" Malia Craver, who worked with the Queen Liliʻuokalani Children's Centers (QLCC) for more than 30 years, taught courses in traditional hoʻoponopono. On August 30, 2000, she spoke about it to the United Nations.

Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona became the one who carried Ho'oponopono into the modern Hawaiian world. Here are her words: “If we can accept that we are the sum total of all past thoughts, emotions, words, deeds and actions and that our present lives and choices are colored or shaded by this memory bank of the past, then we begin to see how a process of correcting or setting aright can change our lives, our families and our society.” And the four statements that are repeated over and over, in the Ho'oponopono process are: "I love you," "Thank you," "Please forgive me," and "I'm sorry" These words may be said in any order and are directed to God - or your God/dess self - as a way to clear you and whatever issue or person you find (created) that is causing discomfort, awkwardness, dis-ease in your life.

Joe Vitale has written the book, Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace, and More, that tells the story about how one Hawaiian psychologist named Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, mysteriously helped to completely heal a very toxic hospital full of mentally ill criminals - without ever seeing a single patient privately. Simply by practicing the Ho'oponopono method as he read the patients' charts, while focusing on healing himself, Dr. Len miraculously transformed an entire hospital of staff and patients.

This story also tells how author Joe Vitale went to rather extraordinary efforts to track down this amazing and unique healer. As a result, Vitale experienced a completely life-transforming journey of self-discovery and self-identity through Dr. Len and the healing process of Ho'oponopono.

As Joe says in his book, he absorbed enough of this Hawaiian system that he eventually "became a guru of (it) himself." And, of course, you can too, if you so desire! You are invited to view the video at the top of this article to learn more and practice Ho'oponopono as often as possible to transform your life.

As we remember and honor the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, let us learn and practice Ho'oponopono, a powerful method to Forgive and Let Go of all conceived judgments and criticism about the way life is and the challenging people in our lives.

To our Health, Wealth, and Awakening (Forgiveness), Dancing heart~~~~
