According to Calgary Hitmen assistant communications manager Joanna French in a press release on Thursday, the Calgary Htmen will be wearing a retro black and pink jersey during selected dates for the 2014-15 season to celebrate their 20th anniversary in the Western Hockey League.

The jersey will include two shoulder patches. One patch will have an historic Hitmen starburst logo on it, while the other patch will have the phrase "The best there is. The best there was. The best there ever will be." The phrase was used by former Hitmen owner Brett "the Hitman" Hart, who is best known in the sports world for his excellence in wrestling, where he was a former superstar in WWE.

The Calgary Hitmen have been eliminated from the postseason, but Calgary will host the Western Hockey League Awards on April 30 and the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft on May 1.

Hitmen general manager Mike Moore has been nominated for the executive of the year, while three Calgary natives have been nominated for WHL Awards--Josh Morrissey of the Prince Albert Raiders for top defenseman, Nick Merkley of the Kelowna Rockets for top rookie and Sam Fioretti of the Moose Jaw Warriors for humanitarianism.
