In 24 games this season with Calgary, Jones recorded 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points and was a +19. A native of Olds, Alberta (an hour north of Calgary), this will be Jones's fourth Western Hockey League team as he has previously played for the Victoria Royals and Chilliwack Bruins.
Zipp, from Edmonton, meanwhile only has one assist in 23 games played and is a -3 over that period.
It will be interesting to see if the trade of Jones will weaken a Hitmen team offensively. The Hitmen have scored 20 goals in the last three games, including a 10-2 romp over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday.
The Hitmen are currently at 29-8-5 and have an eight point lead over the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Eastern Conference Standings. Their next game is January 10 in Regina, with their next home game Sunday against the Kelowna Rockets at 4:00 p.m.
