According to the Calgary Hitmen website on Wednesday, the Calgary Hitmen have traded defenseman Peter Kosterman to the Prince George Cougars for a fourth round pick in the Western Hockey League's 2014 Bantam Draft and a sixth round pick in the Western Hockey League's 2015 Bantam Draft.
Kosterman, a native Calgarian, had two goals and eight assists for ten points for Calgary last season in 56 games. He also had one goal and three assists for four points in 17 playoff contests.
Kosterman became expendable simply because of his age. At 20 years old, the Hitmen appear to be going with forward Brady Brassart and defensemen Jesse Zgraggen and Jaynen Rissling as their three allowable overage players in 2013-14, according to Jefferson Hagen of the Calgary Herald.
In other Calgary Hitmen news, the Hitmen are looking for billets in southeast Calgary this season. If interested, please contact Bernie Bajnok at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Hitmen meanwhile begin their 2013-14 season Friday, September 20 in Edmonton with their first home game September 28 against Red Deer.
