According to the Calgary Hitmen website, the Calgary Hitmen acquired right winger Linden Penner from the Everett Silvertips for a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft on Friday.
Penner, is a big hockey player for his age of 18 years. He is 6'3", 220 pounds.
Penner spent the last two seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League--2011-12 with the Sherwood Park Crusaders and in 2012-13 with the Whitecourt Wolverines.
A native of Edmonton, Penner participated in the Calgary Flames' summer development camp this past July. So far this season he played in one game for the Silvertips but failed to register a point.
The Hitmen currently have a record of 3-2 to start the WHL season. They recently split a back-to-back series with the Kootenay Ice Friday and Saturday, winning 4-3 on Friday and losing 4-2 on Saturday. Center Greg Chase leads the team with six goals and seven points.
The Hitmen next play the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday, with their next home game on October 12 against the Prince Albert Raiders.
