In today’s financial environment, but especially in the United States, folks live to work where many years ago the idea was about working to live. With this in mind it has become of greater importance to find ways to relax in a much broader spectrum. For many the economic situation needs much consideration, but the fact still remains that a getaway of any sort will help immensely to recharge those batteries and to get your mojo back in line.
Think about taking a walk on the wild side, which doesn’t mean to go and confront some wild beast in the middle of nowhere, but to get going and plan a relaxing time without over thinking the process. We have talked in past articles about what it takes to take a trip, but if the case is that the wallet is a bit skimpy to allow for a trip to a foreign land it should not be a problem either if we put our imagination to work. Touring is touring and the most accurate definition is from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary (Merriam-Webster.com) which describes touring/traveling as the activity of traveling to a place for pleasure. It does not say one needs to fly for hours on end to get to Nirvana, it simple says; Pack few things, get out of the house for a short while and have a great time.
Look in any direction from where your home is located and for sure you will find an interesting place couple of hours driving distance that perhaps you have forgotten all about. Make the drive something wonderful by making frequent stops. The trick is not about getting to the destination, but how enjoyable and how much can be experienced along the journey. A pit-stop for a soda at a scenic place, something to eat at a small local joint, few photos here and there will make the difference between a stress releasing event and a wasted time on the road, so make the most of it until the time comes for planning that dream vacation you are longing for. Any time spent getting one’s act together is never wasted time.
Giving credit to the great Ray Charles who actually put it much better; Hit the road Jack and let’s see some big smiles come to life as you too take a walk on the wild side.
Don't forget that a good travel agent can be your best friend even if you are not going abroad. They may make the short stay up the road even better with some upgrades to make an even more of a magic moment.
