Kelly Smith,

Mark the calendar for Saturday, September 11 from 10:00 am – 12 noon for Armand Bayou's “Hit the Trails: Getting Outdoors for Fun and Fitness” event. Right next to Houston, it's located at 8500 Bay Area Boulevard in Pasadena, TX. ABNC is an actual farm that dates back to when this area was settled, so it's a great educational resource.

Christus St. John Hospital in nearby Nassau Bay has partnered with the nature center to promote health, fitness, and an appreciation of Texas' unique coastal nature. Hospital personnel will be on hand to man fitness stations and offer health screenings.

This is a runner-friendly event as well. Bay Area Fit, a local running club focused on long distance and marathon training, will be there to discuss their running program. On the Run, a local Houston specialty running shoe store, will be there to offer store coupons and talk about proper shoe choices and fit.

This is a family oriented event, so load up the kids in the SUV and come enjoy nature. The price? Free for members, $3 for non-member adults, and $1 for children aged 4-12 and seniors 60 and older. For more information, call 281-474-2551.
