Historics: SVRA announces Pro-Am pairings, cars for Brickyard Invitational

Via press release on Monday, May 26, the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) released the names of both pros and amateurs as well as the cars that will take place in the Indy 500 Legends Pro-Am at the first Brickyard Invitational to be held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway June 6-8. The Pro-Am is the featured event and will take place Sunday afternoon.

Grand Marshal Parnelli Jones will drive the pace car for the Pro-Am, and Bobby Unser will lead oval exhibition and open wheel classes over the weekend.

Pairings and cars for all 26 entries are as follows for competitors in the Pro-Am. Races will be 40-minutes long, with five minutes allotted for driver changes. The listing below provides car number, pro driver, amateur driver, car year, and car:

The cars represent 1963 to 1972 vintage Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs of SVRA's "Group 6," with an engine displacement limit of 355 cubic inches.

The Brickyard Invitational will feature, according to SVRA, over 700 race cars gathered at IMS, representing 100 years of motor sport history. All can be seen in action either on the oval or the road course over the weekend.

Tickets and camping are available for the Brickyard Invitational at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, June 6-8.
