Weeks after its inaugural historic/vintage racing weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) announced a new partnership with Enerpulse Technologies and its Pulstar Pulse brand. The announcement was made via press release from SVRA on Wednesday, July 2.

Al Unser Jr. won the Charity Indy Legends Pro-Am race with amateur partner Peter Klutt in the feature event of the three-day inaugural SVRA Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Unser is a Pulstar Pulse Plugs Performance Expert and in that role also signed autographs for fans that weekend at the Pulstar booth in IMS's famed Gasoline Alley.

SVRA President and CEO, Tony Parella stated, "SVRA is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Enerpulse Technologies and their Pulstar Pulse brand. The advanced technology of a pulsed power spark plug is an exciting development in the racing world. We are happy to prove that a vintage car can still benefit from new technology."

Unser Jr., who plans to use the plugs himself in his future historic racing competitions, commented about the event and new partnership, "It was a great thrill to compete in the recent SVRA event at Indy and to represent Pulstar as its performance expert. The working relationship between the two organizations is a natural fit and a benefit to the sport of vintage racing."

According to the release, "Enerpulse Technologies has developed and commercialized the first real breakthrough in spark plug technology in over 120 years."

SVRA continues its 2014 season of historic/vintage events with race weekends at Pocono Raceway in August; Watkins Glen International (WGI) and Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in September; and Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in October. See the SVRA website for more information.
