The newly purchased Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) announced on Thursday another partner in its growing roster of collaborations under new ownership. Hawk Performance, a division of Carlisle Companies, has joined ranks with the historic racing organization as its official brake partner. Hawk will support SVRA through its expanded 2013 season on both coasts and through its national championship.
About the new partnership, SVRA President and CEO Tony Parella commented:
"We are very proud and enthusiastic to have Hawk as a partner and believe that they will bring a lot to the table this year. Their extensive product line and plans to provide at-track support at selected events during the 2013 will be a real benefit to our competitors.”
Dave Roberts, Chairman, CEO, and President of Carlisle Companies stated that he is pleased with the move:
"I have personally participated in a number of events organized by vintage racing organizations and I am convinced the direction Tony is taking SVRA will lead it to be one of a few premiere vintage racing organizations in the US. At Hawk, we want to be part of that growth and evolution.”
Hawk Performance Sales and Marketing Director, Andrew Hisey, complimented the historic racers involved in SVRA in his statement:
"Our company is all about supporting the men and women behind the wheel, and there’s no better example of such an engaged membership than at SVRA. All of us at Hawk are looking forward to being the Official Brake Partner of such a passionate, knowledgeable, and active group of racers.”
SVRA is a historic motor racing organization formerly located mainly on the East Coast. With its recent purchase by Texas businessman and racer Tony Parella, the organization is going national with race events planned on both coasts leading to its first national championship race, the location of which is yet to be confirmed.
According to SVRA's press release, "Hawk Performance is a leading supplier of severe duty and high-performance products manufactured in ISO-certified facilities for the motorsports and performance automotive aftermarket. Hawk Performance products are engineered to allow users to control command and conquer the terrain for which their vehicles are designed." Hawk has "decades of experience in developing friction materials for aerospace, industrial, military, automotive and motorsports applications. In the past decade, Hawk friction products have won more motorsports championships than any other friction manufacturer."
The first SVRA event listed on the 2013 season calendar is the Spring Vintage Classic at Sebring International Raceway February 28 -- March 3, 2013. Tickets are available now.
