Via press release on Wednesday, June 4, the Goodwood Motor Circuit announced that day tickets remain available for its 2014 Festival of Speed, June 26-29. While weekend tickets and Saturday general admission tickets have sold out for the event, spectators may still purchase day tickets for Friday and Sunday.
According to Goodwood, Friday will give visitors a first opportunity to see machinery from five contemporary front-running Formula 1 teams – including Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull. The cars will be in action on Goodwood’s iconic 1.16-mile Hillclimb. On Friday, a Bonhams’ fine automobile auction will take place as well.
Sunday brings the Festival of Speed’s traditional finale, in which the fastest cars of the weekend will make one flat-out afternoon attempt each against the clock to take home the prize of the quickest time.
Each day of the three-day weekend features stunts from X Games athletes – including Petr Pilat, Kye Forte and Edgar Torronteras – in the Goodwood Action Sports Arena. There will also be sideways action on the Skoda Forest Rally Stage and displays of aerobatics with appearances by the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet.
Notables from motor racing and its history such as John Surtees, Emerson Fittipaldi, Sebastien Loeb, Richard Petty, Al Unser, Giacomo Agostini, Wayne Gardner, Freddie Spencer and John McGuinness will be in action in a variety of two and four-wheeled machinery. The Michelin Supercar Paddock will feature more than 20 road-going machines, including Koenigsegg’s new Agera One:1, capable of a reported 273mph.
Goodwood's annual Festival of Speed is a summer celebration of all things fast. Its annual Goodwood Revival takes place in September.
