Historic Sites (Photos)

As a member of several meet-up groups I share the chance to visit some amazing sites and locations for capturing photographic opportunities. On a recent meet-up, one of my groups convened at historic Fort Point http://www.nps.gov/fopo/index.htm located at the entrance to San Francisco Bay, under the Golden Gate Bridge. The fort dates back to the Spanish American and Civil War era when it's massive walls armed with men & canons defended our sovereignty against foreign enemy invasions. It is now a museum open to the public, admission is free. During our meet-up tour, members wander about freely at our discretion in search of photo scenes which we all later post to share on the group's website. http://www.meetup.com/Sonoma-County-Photography-Group/

Joining photo groups is an excellent way to expand photography experience, meet new friends and visit interesting places. I've attached a few of my favorite shots of the old fort which I encourage anyone who may have occasion to visit. The vistas from the ramparts are spectacular, the rustic hallways, rooms and artifacts take us back to a time long past.

Our groups are scheduled for many more exciting adventures throughout the year... if you love photography, people and fun places, joining a group may suit and enhance your lifestyle... it definitely does for me.

Until next time... Ciao, Nik Catalina
