Historic Columbia to offer Five Points Happy Hour History Tours in April (Photos)

Columbia, SC (March 19, 2013) – Historic Columbia Foundation is serving up a capital city cocktail that is one part happy hour and two parts history during the Happy Hour History Tours of Five Points. Every Friday in April at 5:30 p.m. HCF will lead a guided tour of the historic Five Points area that includes cocktail and appetizer stops along the route.

What began as a trolley hub for Columbia's first planned suburban neighborhood has evolved into one of the city’s entertainment hot-spots. This guided tour highlights the history and architecture of this historic district and how they played a role in transforming this area into the ‘famously hot’ spot it is today.

Reservations aren’t required but are encouraged as these tours tend to sell out. Email reservations@historiccolumbia.org or call 803.252.1770 ext. 24 to reserve a spot on the tour. The cost of the tour is $20 for Historic Columbia Foundation members and $25 general admission. Price includes two adult beverages and appetizers along the way. Walk-up registrations will only be accepted if space permits.

“Happy Hour History Tours are the perfect way to jump start your weekend,” says Sarah Blackwell, HCF’s director of programs. “Enjoy the beautiful spring weather, as you stroll through Five Points learning and laughing along the way!”
