Historic Columbia Foundation to hold Great Columbia Quest on March 23 (Photos)

The Historic Columbia Foundation will hold its annual Great Columbia Quest on Saturday, March 23. The Quest is a city-wide scavenger hunt inspired by the CBS TV series The Amazing Race covering Columbia’s history through its significant sites.

Two –person teams will compete on foot to earn a many points as possible during a three hour time frame, competing for a variety of prizes. The challenge is to visit as many sites throughout Columbia’s downtown district to answer clues and complete challenges.

The Quest will start and finish at the Robert Mills House at 1616 Blanding Street. At the conclusion, drinks and snacks will be available and prizes will be awarded.

Teams will be given a list of clues, each located at a different destination and each assigned a different point value. All clues will be located within the following parameters: East/west between Bull and Harden Streets and north/south between Blanding and Blossom Streets.

Cost of the event is $40 per two-person team for Historic Columbia Members and $50 per two-person team for non-members. Registration fees include a t-shirt and snacks. Day-of registration will be available at the above rates. This event is designed for ages 10 and up but all are welcome. Click here for online registration.
