Monday, August 30th is set to be a big day in hip hop.

BET will air its first original music documentary directed by Ava DuVernay, "My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth About Women in Hip Hop," featuring interviews with 35 people, including artists MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, Eve, Rah Digga, Lauryn Hill, Trina, as well as journalists and music executives (airing Monday, 7PM PST; Thursday, 5PM PST; Sunday, 7PM PST, check your local listings or watch here).

Also on Monday MC Lyte's HipHopSister.com, the social networking site, where females in hip hop can not only showcase themselves and see what their other sisters are doing but chat and network, will release the first in a series of three anticipated mixtapes.

One look at the "DJ Leecy Presents...We Got Now Volume 1" track listing below lets you know that the sisters aren't playing, with Lyte and board members of HipHopSister.com lending their talents to the effort.
