Hip-hop legends Salt n' Pepa, Slick Rick, Rob Base and Doug E. Fresh will be rhyming their way into the opening for the Taste of Chicago on Fri., June 25. R&B group greats Bell Biv Devoe will also be at the Petrillo Music Shell during the 5:30 p.m. lineup celebrating the Taste of Chicago's 30th anniversary.

The festival will start on June 25 and end on July 4 in Grant Park. Admission to get into the festival is free and so is admission to see the hip-hop and R&B legends perform. All Petrillo Music Shell concerts are free to the public.

Old school hip-hop artists and pioneers are becoming even more visible on the touring and television scene thanks to shows like BET's "The Mo'Nique Show," VH1's "The Salt n' Pepa Show" and "Let's Talk About Pep." Earlier last year, Slick Rick was also on tour with another pioneer and beatbox extraordinaire, Biz Markie, during 2009's The Legends Ball.

Chicagoans who plan to eat before the concerts start might want to head to any Dominick's store to purchase 12 tickets for $6. After today, the ticket prices will rise to $8 for 12 at booth locations. ATMs and credit card booths will be available at the Taste of Chicago for those who don't want to carry cash.

Over 200 food items will be served at the 10-day event. Drivers can park at Millennium Garages, and the location is accessible by public transportation. Bike parking and trolleys are available by Grant Park, too.
